According to the OECD, US citizens work more than Europeans, but less than Mexicans. 

Anchorage, Alaska is the hardest working city in America, according to data from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The Paris-based policy forum looked at hours worked around the country and found that workers in Anchorage toil for about 40.9 hours per week, followed by Plano, Texas at 40.5 and Cheyenne, Wyoming at 40.4.

The report also found that people in the US work about 1,763 hours per year — 25% more than their European counterparts. That said, the US is far behind Mexico for hours worked. Mexicans work a staggering 2,255 hours per year.
